The Secretariat conducts commemorative visits to the colonial-era prisons and detention camps where Mau Mau freedom fighters were held, tortured and executed. Kiambu County
Kamiti Maximum Security Prison held many Mau Mau detainees during the State of Emergency. The Secretariat delegation, led by Hon. Anastasia Wanjiku Njuguna, toured the detention blocks, honoured the memory of those who died in custody, and documented the site as part of Kenya's liberation heritage record.
Taita Taveta County
Manyani was one of the largest and most notorious detention camps of the Emergency period, holding tens of thousands of suspected Mau Mau adherents. The Secretariat's visit focused on site verification, remembrance of those who perished, and gathering evidence in support of the reparations and recognition agenda.
Nakuru County
Naivasha Prison formed part of the colonial detention network through which Mau Mau fighters were processed and confined. The Secretariat visit continued the nationwide programme of documenting detention sites and advocating for their formal recognition as liberation heritage landmarks.

It is the principal forum through which national resolutions are deliberated, county representation is coordinated, and the Secretariat reports back to its membership.
